First Felting Project

     With over 130 posts Knitit is now in its 4th month.  During June & July extra links to older posts were  added to enable easy access to the Archives. 

Felting has been introduced with the first Felting project. Make a Felt Ball - any size you choose!  Show your children how to make their own felt balls (not suitable for the under three's though, due to Fluff!).

The recent addition of Beanies in different stitch patterns is designed to add variation and individuality to your Beanie knitting. Weaving Intructions for a Circular Coaster are now on Knitit.

Knitit is into its third month and has now a total of 75 posts. 
Weaving on a home-made cardboard loom is versatile & popular. Knitit has got instuctions on how to make the loom. Encourage your chidren to have a go as well. This is an easy way to learn the basics of weaving.
There's lots of new things to knit: Cosy Slippers, Warm Mitts, Pixie Hats, Slouch Hats and lots more!

Refer to the posts on Conversion Charts for Knitting Needles and Crochet Hooks if you are using a pattern that doesn't supply the information you require on comparative sizes for UK; US and Metric.

Consult Knitit regularly for ideas if you do Fibre craft and you want to sell your work.  You might want to choose quick and easy things to make or perhaps you prefer unususl and unique designs that command a premium price.
If you knit you'll be able to choose different or unusual stitches.  All information on Knitit is absolutely Free.  Use and adapt the ideas and share your success with others when you accomplish something special.

If you're keen to sell your Craft locate the items that are quick and easy to make.  Use and adapt ideas.  Gain as much enjoyment as you can from your Craft and when you are successful with a new accomplishment share your success with others.

Markets are a good starting point.  Create an on-line Market or sell directly from a stall in your local town.

Crochet Scarves ready for Market

Greetings,
To avoid confusion the name has been reverted back to'Knitit' since the alternative 'Knitwit' name was not official.
I've had heaps of fun creating Knitit for you.  Use the ideas as a starting point to run a small business or to start selling at market - or else just enjoy messing about experimenting with different ideas and varied fibre, but above all - enjoy your creations!
So far there is a strong emphasis on Quick and Easy things to make.  This is important if you want to make some money and time is of the essence!
Why not find other people in your town who love fibre craft and arrange home meetings to share ideas and join in a market?  The production volume is increased and costs can be shared!  Use small folding boxes with ventilation holes that let the air circulate and may be stacked neatly away for storage.  These can be taken along to market and they fold down flat when empty, (see photos).


Store them in boxes that stack
